2025 Official Australian National Pilgrimage

In this Jubilee Year of Hope,  join us for the Official National Pilgrimage, ‘In the Footsteps of Mary MacKillop’ prepared by the

Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart.

Registrations are now open for the 2025 ‘In the Footsteps of Mary MacKillop’ National Pilgrimage. Join us for a journey that offers unique insights into the history & legacy of our Australian Saint.

The journey will beginning in East Melbourne on Tuesday 9 September 2025 and will conclude at Mary MacKillop Place in North Sydney on Saturday 20 September 2025.

During this time you will visit many places associated with Mary MacKillop’s life and ministry across Victoria, South Australia and Sydney, offering a unique perspective into aspects of Mary’s whole life. This pilgrimage offers a very personal experience of reflection and revelation while also giving you the opportunity to journey alongside others: seeking, listening, reflecting and seeing the hand of God at work in our own lives.

The notion of going on a pilgrimage and being a pilgrim is a very ancient one that belongs to the spiritual tradition of all great faiths. Places of pilgrimage beckon people to get caught up in the atmosphere and spiritual realities that belong to their origins. However, it is not only the site that takes people deep into the heart of their faith, but the journey itself.

I recommend strongly to consider participate in the National Pilgrimage to all people who are looking to reflect and give thanks to Go for so many things that we have.
